"Science,come Science ! - they do cry

Deriding everything but science lo !

I sit in a tight corner and re-reflect

How scientific is really science oh !!

I am not of science they may refrain

I keep mum and thus contemplate,

Whence did science come about here

In creation,that nectar of thought !

Nectar is unscientific as maintain they

It's dogma that feeds on queer belief,

In their observation and experiment

For them science infallible does thrive !

Eyes and ears and senses in place

Mind operating on objects as ever

Methinks to observe and experiment

If our forefathers to forget could dare !

The answer I find in negative as I know

The so-called modern is but a show !

Science is knowledge empirically known

In transcendence is further science aglow !

Science is a belief I believe it to be true,

On a set of premises or a glimpse of clue !

Knowledge is illimitable,man is so dwarf

To scale and ascend the heights of blue !

It's but human ego to call spade a spade

Or heavens as myth or atoms particular ;

Who indeed knows that knowing is fake

That's a caricature but for science scepter !

Fakes could command a price very dear

The real may feign as unreal and hide

Sciences do crumble when at a given stage

Does higher science evolve or descend !

All science suffers from that ad hoc posture

An apostle for a limited operational role,

Roles it back in time to obsolete quarters

Yielding place to the new,again the new !

Einstein saw in a flash,an intuitive light

That all energy has but a single source ;

United field he named it,no play of dice,

Consciousness Samvid uttered Vedic seers !

The Vedas are science all always or none

We have to have eyes for that special ;

Seers did specify the conditions splendid

Meet the gods and see the mantra's soul !

Vyasa hinted in his magnum opus bright

Yoga,knowledge,Samkhya,lores,techniques,

Vedas,shastras and sciences all but spring

From that that God,the perennial source !"

26/11 : Three Years Back We failed !

SANSKRIT SPEAKING UNION BILL IN MAURITIUS

" The Sanskrit Speaking Union Bill passed in Mauritius National Assembly in June,2012 is a great event in recent history of Sanskrit outside India.I must congratulate all those behind this,conceiving the idea and seeing it through the national body.

What I find now is that Sanskrit has shown not only her infinite longevity,but also her exuberant liveliness and innovative character lending ideas and idioms to the world at large !

I shall keenly look forward to see that this is not merely a political statement but it works out to be a real issue to raise a language to lead a people to greater good and cultural values of perennial nature.

Sanskrit I would like to see as a global lingua franca growing from strength to strength ! "

Why We Kill Cows ?

" Swami Krishna Ashram,a Hindu Monk of the Dandii Swami order is on a fast unto death to stop cow-slaughter in Haryana-Punjab and in India.He sits under a banyan tree on the island inside the Brahmasarovar in Kurukshetra,Haryana.His fast started on 29th September.

I met him one day at our Upanishad sitting held on Sundays and was impressed with his simplicity,experiential learning as a Sannyasin,his ideas of perennial Indian values of individual life and society.He speaks a chaste,direct and sweet Haryanvi language casually chanting from memory Sanskrit verses from the Gita and other scriptures along with words of Kabir and Nanak etc.He quotes Guru Gobind Singh who took up cudgels against cow slaughter.

His argument is well-founded.He has evidence to show that even during the Moghul days,the rules had passed orders prohibiting cow-slaughter and imposing death penalty on the defaulter.But he sadly adds that after even the country has been independent,the country is earning revenue from the slaughter houses from which beef is exported to other countries !

He sites the case of the butchery at Derabassi just near Chandigarh falling in Punjab territory where the crime goes unabated since decades.

He has with him literature to prove the contribution of cows to human and social health and the ill effects of beef-eating.

His own book on Yoga named Haryanvi Yoga as it is in Haryanvi language is straight and illuminating.One is reminded of the work Vichaarasaagar by Sant Nischal Das of Haryana who also was a Vedantic Sannyasin of high order.

I am deeply hurt and unhappy when a Sannyasin is on fast without water in Dharmakshetra and I have to swallow my food routinely.I try to pay a visit to him at least once a day on these fast days to feel a little comfortable as he is doing a tapas to awaken the public and the government against a crime that no religion would accept.

If we have to save the soul of India we have to save her ethos ! The body without soul is death of a culture as we nourish the body and neglect the soul !

Will God or someone as his deputy see to it that something positive should emerge out of this selfless penance of a man and monk ? "

Long Live Hindi !

On September 14 we have again celebrated the Hindi Divas and repeated our resolve to protect, preserve and promote good and standard Hindi,prevent her from deterioration and so on.People as usual tried to put blame on the system,academia,globalization,print & electronic media,growing misplaced popularity of English and many other aspects.

This is common experience that all over India and abroad Hindi as used in her multiple shades,does serve as a linkage between the people of Indian origin.People have taken to English for a purpose but certainly not forgotten their roots.

But how to prevent Hindi and also many other Indian languages spelled in the constitution is a thousand crores question.To me this is due to our growing obliviousness of the cardinal role played by Samskrit for ages ! She has been the mother and nourisher,she used to recreate,recast,reinvent,support and substantiate like a mega river system doing to it's branches spread in different directions assuming divergent natures and roles.

We have paid lip service to Sanskrit,we have been no less cruel to her than the invader and foreign rulers.No other language can ever match her potentials as the only scientific language on earth ! She still lives but under strained circumstances,but her soul has not eroded,her voice is free from signs of corruption ! She beckons us in the face and at the back.If we show the care she deserves,she can ensure longevity and quality to the daughter languages,cultural moorings and values which are so essential to humanity !

There is no antipathy between Hindi and Sanskrit.Hindi is our national official language,horizontally she makes us meet and speak heart to heart.Let Sanskrit connect us to the best ever in human knowledge and existence,that soulful living : sarvabhuutahite rataa.h !

By Samskrit coming to occupy a greater position in our society and lives,we shall know that we are a race of millenniums old,we shall be infinitely wise,we shall be spiritually united as we shall recognize that the rest of the world is organically related to us !

Long back the noted medical scientist and environmentalist Shushruta spoke the same thing in his celebrated work.He called it " Prajnaaparaadha " - Sin of the Human Mind ! This leads to calamities in nature.Thus sustainable development and global future depends on an ideal humanity,less capricious and less violent,more peaceable and more humane,moral and spiritual ! "

" Last evening Sri Sri Ravishankar was here in Kurukshetra in a MahaaSatsang spanning a few hours.Among other things he spoke for Samskrita in an inspired voice that the language has the potential to make man moral,spiritual and successful,he pleaded for Gita to be a daily study material that would bestow on man true culture and civilization.Sri Sri urged the people and the govt to make Samskrita a compulsory subject up to tenth class in all schools.He remembered Ambedkar who wanted Samskrita to be the official language of India.

Samskrita in Rene' Island !

" I am happy to be informed by my student-friend Yogesh born and living in Rene' (Reunion) island of France that he is busy with his project concerning two things Samskrita and Vedanta !
He has constituted a group of young souls to take this work collectively to spread the Aryan Hindu pride.I met him in a workshop at Chinmay International Foundation,Ernakulum.He has devised ways to mechanically engrave Devanagari script on palm-leaves to re-invent a cultural trait in India now fast fading out.I wish him godspeed and a great life to do his mission in the far off island !"

" After this Census we may or may not have reason to believe that Samskrita is doing somewhat in a minimal or a little satisfactory way.Until the next census let the Samskrita teachers rejuvenate their spirits without the least touch of complacency that it's they who're responsible for what and how Samskrita is today.Rather than the old and ageing,I would like to rely on the future Samskrita teachers to be live to Samskrita,to live Samskrita and contribute to her eternal existence and not to just resort to her to eke out a livelihood or build a career big in name and vacuous and ineffective in content.
For this we have to develop the potentials that the teaching and examinations be in Samskrita and not in another language whether Indian or foreign,and I assure you the unique ethos and essence will be back ! "
